Andrew established Merchant Group in December 2011 after spending 9 years with one of Perth’s leading private wealth managers. With almost 20 years of experience in the industry, Andrew has been exposed to numerous market cycles that have shaped his views on active portfolio management and risk, enabling him to offer a specialised investment management service to a select group of high net worth clients.
With graduate and post graduate qualifications in Business, Finance and Hospitality, Andrew is well versed to provide customised investment solutions with a direct and transparent investment approach.
Andrew is a passionate supporter of OzHarvest, Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, establishing OzHarvest’s presence in WA and regularly participating in the charity’s biggest annual fundraising event, the CEO CookOffTM.

Peter Cook
Non Executive Chairman
Peter adds significant skills and expertise to Merchant and the Fund in the areas of corporate governance, due diligence, all investments as well as significant financial and project management skills. His business acumen, skills and experience in the corporate sector will provide in depth knowledge of corporate transactions and structuring. Peter is an exploration geologist BSc (Applied Geology) and Mineral Economist MSc (Mineral Economics) MAusIMM with considerable experience and an excellent track record of success within his chosen sector. He is currently an Executive Director and Managing Director of Westgold Resources Limited.
Chris Mews
Fund CFO
Chris is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Business degree (Accounting) and is a Chartered Company Secretary.
He has been in financial services for over 19 years and is experienced in the financial operation, governance and compliance of Managed Investment Schemes, ASX listed companies and unlisted companies.
Chris has held senior positions in Finance, Corporate Secretarial and Compliance. In these roles he has been a member of senior management and participated in the due diligence and acquisition of Managed Investment Schemes, and participated in various capital raisings for Managed Investment Schemes, ASX listed Companies and unlisted Companies.
Chris will be responsible for the Fund’s financial, compliance and administration responsibilities.
